We're looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our first-class team.

The core missions of the Sous Chef

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced professional to:

  1. Support the Head Chef to lead and train the kitchen team to deliver great food in a great environment
  2. Work alongside the Head Chef, to drive the business plan, budgets, and profitability
  3. Work with the management team to develop the food offering, kitchen culture, and physical space to build on an already great product

Your support team

As part of itison venues, owners of seven of the most exciting venues in the City, you’ll be backed and developed by an exceptional in-house support team structure, including;

  • A Head Chef to help support you in running the day to day operations
  • A senior operations team to help support you and deliver the business plan
  • A finance, IT, stock and systems team to train and support you on the admin of the role
  • A marketing and digital team to drive customers and events
  • An HR team to help train and recruit 

The core skill set and requirements

  • Two years at Senior Chef de Partie or 1 year as Sous Chef, in a high quality, busy kitchen
  • Self motivated, organised, professional, and a good communicator 
  • Genuine passion for great food and a track record of delivering exceptional dishes, in a time-pressured, fast paced environment
  • Able to lead, teach, and assist the Head Chef in managing and developing a brilliant team that works well together
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow paperwork and process, from stock control to reporting profit margins (training on systems given). Able to produce rotas and manage budgets and targets
  • Ambitious, and continually looking to develop and improve skills
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety within kitchens
  • Experience of catering for private events and large group bookings would be helpful
