General Manager - Epicures of Hyndland:

itison Venues are proud owners of some of Glasgow’s best-loved spots: Brel, Maggie Mays, The Griffin, Sloans, Jacques and, most recently, Nick’s Bar & Grill and Epicures of Hyndland.

With Epicures about to undergo a major overhaul including a full refurb, we’ve got an incredible opportunity for a top-notch General Manager to help us take the venue forward and give locals a neighbourhood spot to be proud of. It’s an exciting time for Epicures and our venues as a group, and we’re looking for someone who will be equally excited by this and will embrace our culture and help drive the business forward. 

We're looking for an experienced manager and 'foodie', to work alongside the Head Chef and be responsible for all aspects of the business & management of staff.  You will be accountable for all aspects of the running of Epicures, from customer satisfaction and training to profitability and overall standards. You will be tasked with the daily running of the restaurant along with supervising of events. This is a full-time role where you will be expected to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

As General Manager, you will be supported by a strong and experienced team of Assistant Manager and supervisors, as well as a great restaurant team. You will also have the support of the group’s Operations team, which includes Marketing, Finance and HR support. 

This role would suit someone in an existing GM role, looking for an exciting change, or a strong/experienced Assistant GM, looking for a step up.

Duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Weekly and daily paperwork inc banking, wages, rota, stock ordering, purchase orders
  • Day-to-day running and supervision
  • Recruitment of front of house team
  • Cellar management & maintenance
  • On floor/bar staff training
  • Management of group bookings & events
  • Driving business and generating profit

You'll need the following skills and experience:

  • Leadership and great people management skills
  • Passion & a desire to drive the business forward
  • A team player, flexible and adaptable
  • Genuine passion for great food and drink
  • Personal Licence
  • Management experience
  • Ability to work in a busy, high-pressure environment
  • Experience of working with the public in a hospitality role
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A minimum of 5 years' hospitality experience
  • Organised, punctual, a keen eye for detail
  • Good time management skills
